Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I’m effectively kitchen manager and team leader on the bar as I am cross trained. I run the operations in the kitchen and lead the bar shifts at the weekend.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Its been challenging and informative, so I feel the programme has been fairly enjoyable, as I feel I’m furthering my skills and learning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I’ve been on kitchen masterclasses where I’ve been taught different skills and techniques and my lifetime coach has been very informative with British values and skillsets.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
From doing the masterclasses and doing one on ones with my lifetime coach and understanding when my end point assessment is, I’ve felt the structure of the programme is working well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I’m fortunate to have an approachable and understanding general manager, I feel any issue I put forward is treated with the right response.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My lifetime coach Keith is very supportive, we have frequent one on ones which I prefer to webinars, and he’s only ever a message away when I need support the rest of the time.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
As I am a kitchen manager, some things I’ve learnt have been stuff I already know but then again it’s reinforced other skillsets and taught me things I didn’t as well. I do feel that the chef academy teaches us how to cook fresh food while the pub kitchen is mostly frozen but it’s good to know anyway.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have staff nights out and team meetings which makes us feel like a team and part of a unit, which keeps us all on the same page personally and professionally.
