Operator of machinery in the process of producing kitchens.
I'm there to run the machine, performance maintenance tasks and fix small issues that occur.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Very much enjoying. The company is great to work for and I hope I successfully complete the apprenticeship and move on to working full time for them.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Learnt a lot of new skills, especially in engineering related mathematics.
I have also learnt about things like Electrical circuits and Mechanical principles.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very, everything has been very well thought out. I wish I didn't get so much work all at once but I'm still enjoying the process.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Quite a bit actually, the best part of it is having some of my working hours for the use of completing college work, if I didn't I don't know how I'd keep up.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

At the moment it's not bad, I recently went for a dyslexia assessment and so hopefully that should aid them in tweaking the support I receive.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Pretty good. There are things I'm learning that I'll not use in my job, certainly not immediately if ever, like complicated mathematics.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are but with all the college work I never have time.

Yes
Why?
I love working for them and I can't wait to get to my EPA and hopefully have done well enough to get the job.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Howdens?
Keep up with your college work, dont let it build up uncompleted. In my first year I did, this year onwards I wont allow it to.
