Changing electric and gas meters. Fixing faults.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed the hands on learning. The training centre felt unorganised. There was alot of time spent doing nothing, then rushing to catch up.

I have learnt lots of new skills but feel the training was rushed and some aspects were not indepth.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

On paper it seemed well structured but it often changed last minute. We changed trainers numerous times and they were often not given any information on what we were doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Managers are often hard to get through to. I have let people know of my concerns and have been told changes are being made.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Trainers tried there best to help apprentices if they needed support.

Why?
Lots of aspects of the job were not explained during the training. The amount of overtime employees are expected to work. The speed in which jobs need to be completed. How to use the company tablet to complete jobs.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Centrica British Gas?
The first several months of working on your own will be difficult. It can be stressful and overtime is not optional.
