Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am a account executive at an insurance brokerage firm. On a day to day basis I service my clients accounts by generating slips, endorsements and invoices to ensure they have a smooth renewal process.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed the programme to a certain point, it is good to be constantly exposed to learning opportunities and have access to a lot of support. However, I felt that there could be some more interaction from the tutors, all sessions are online now with many just reading from the book, so I found my independent study more helpful.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a variety of new skills, mainly being the insurance process and communication. I now fully understand the insurance process from the start to the end and I am able to ensure the client gets a good outcome. My communication skills have been tested and proven many times in how to relay information to a stakeholder in the most effective way.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme itself I didn't find to be that structured, there are a lot of moving parts with the 20% OTJ, Knowledge assignments, DIP, gateway and it is easy to fall behind in some areas if not kept on top of. However, my tutor was really good in creating a structure that worked for me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer was very good in giving me the time I need for independent study, although I would say that being the first apprentice in my team I felt I did not have some to talk to/relate to in regards to any bumps in the road I was having as my employer was not entirely aware of what I needed to complete on the programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My tutor was excellent in giving me support, he gave personal 1 on 1 sessions when I was struggling with particular exams and he was very organised which made my life a lot easier.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Toward the end of my DIP I found that I could apply some bits I was learning to my role, albeit a small amount, and it has given me a base understanding of Insurance in general.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am exposed to a surplus of extra-curricular activities at work, I regularly attend professional networking events in London such as Women in Renewables and having meetings with a variety of underwriters. There are sports team aswell but I personally haven't been involved in one.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Always exposed to learning and growth opportunities, there is a good vibe and buzz around the office where I have met a lot of good, interesting people and there is always someone to talk to if you require support.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
Even though we can work remotely I think it is very important to come into the office regularly, be confident and talk/network with as many people as possible.
