Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I report on Mandatory Training completion. I also manage our New Joiner Induction sessions and look after our Mentoring Programme for GB.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed a high proportion of it. It has been difficult at times and talk of End-Point Assessment (exams, observations, portfolio submissions) is quite stressful, but overall it has been pretty enjoyable.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes. I'm using my coaching approach within team meetings as well as directly coaching on a 1 on 1 basis. I'm finding I'm becoming more curious about other colleagues, their thoughts and how this impacts their thinking and decision making. I've also found my time management skills have improved.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
I found the structure has been very good. The course has been designed well and I get the impression that course designers and those delivering the course (BPP) really spent time mapping it out both to ensure we hit everything we needed to along the way but also to provide us with the best experience they could.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Good level of support from my line manager, and my wider organisation.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A good level of support is available. I have a coach Mentor who I meet every couple of months. They answer any questions I have and take an active interest in my development and completion of this course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
A good amount. I have learnt various things on this course (about myself) but also about how to work more collaboratively with others. This has helped when doing exercises such as braining storming and team-work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes. There are all sorts of things that are available. My organisation has a vast array of different events running across the year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend WTW to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The culture is one of respect and the organisation strikes an excellent balance in relation to individual responsibilities and workload. I've noticed that there is very little politics (certainly considering an organisation of this size), and the people are very friendly and welcoming. There are also opportunities to advance as well as various development opportunities such as Coaching and Mentoring.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WTW?
In relation to applying to WTW, the application process will probably be different based on the role area and type. However, in relation to the written application and interview, I would recommend applicants spend time talking about their own values and how they align to those of WTW. Applicants would benefit from spending time getting to "know themselves", if they are not necessarily so aware, by completing questionnaires and tests before applying, that help them understand themselves, their beliefs, values and mindset better. These types of test / quizzes can be done for free online and are widely available.
