Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

First year is full time college. Second year is a site rotation, shadowing various roles in the facility with one day in college. Final year is more site rotations along side completing the NVQ.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy the job itself and I enjoyed having the privilege of experiencing many different sections of the role. I have met many great people.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learn't many new skill when it comes to fitting and understanding mechanical assemblies. My hands skills have improved as well as my ability to understand technical drawings and documentation.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Due to leadership change at the beginning and a constant settling of the new programme, it hasn't been the most organised or structured. Credit where its due I believe they are doing their best and have good intentions for their apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
For the mosty part I personally have always recived the support I need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
All the support I require. We have regular reviews and meetings.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The BTEC course had a lot of useful modules that I found assisted my role in the factory. I have found the NVQ has forced me to learn more about the role in the pursuit to anwser the question packs, which is great.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are a few extra-curricular activities to get involved in. These are primarily careers fairs where you get the chance to voulenteer to represent the company. I have met a few intreresting people through this. Once a year theres a change for a few apprentices to go to an airshow.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend GE Aerospace to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If they were looking for a local apprenticeship in aerospace that offers great experience, pays well and offers opportunites. Then I would recommened it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace?
Have the standard 5 GCSE's including science, math and English. A genuine interest in aircraft and aerospace would benefit well. Any experience in STEM and Aerospace would also highly benefit the application.
