Kitchen and bathroom assistant Review

I am a kitchen and bathroom assistant within Wickes, this involves a lot of customer interaction, taking in information from potential customers who would like a kitchen or bathroom from Wickes and how they can go about their project. there is also a lot of aftercare within my role. people come in and look for advise and figure out how best to help the customer.

My program is structured into modules which relate to each other so the first module was introductory, but then each one gathers a bit more information as a whole with the wider use of management techniques

I have a lot of support from my employer, I am given plenty of opportunity within Wickes to further myself within Wickes and I am given opportunity to do what I need to do and put myself forward to do more roles that I feel comfortable with as well as given opportunities to challenge myself by my manager so that I can learn.

i receive lots of support from my training provider mentor, she is available via email and via the phone whenever i need any help. she effectivly helps with my understanding of my assignments, if they are worded a bit hard she will hep to word it differently so its a bit more easier to understand, and makes it a bit easier to figure out roughly how much i need to write and what i need to do to hit the assesment needs.

i know a lot more now what a management role within Wickes entails and a lot of it is mindset and getting what the customer needs in the most appropriate and effective way possible. it is also about managing your team and a happy team is a good working team. which in turn makes a good working place.

i love my job, i get so many chances to further myself which as a woman in the building industry is not an easy task. it also works very well with my home life. as much work as i do within the store i can do some of it at home if i need to which with a family and in a lot of customer facing roles you cannot do.
