Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role as a bathroom installation apprentice involves assisting with the full process of bathroom installations from start to finish. On a day-to-day basis, I work alongside my installer carrying out tasks such as ripping out existing bathrooms, preparing surfaces, installing pipework, fitting sanitaryware, and assisting with tiling and finishing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Its the best program I have been on, definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get into bathroom installation!

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve been getting better at all parts of bathroom installs, from ripping out to fitting. I’m more confident using tools, cutting accurately, and making sure everything is level. My plumbing’s improved too, especially soldering and pipework. I’m also getting better at finishing and keeping things clean and safe on site.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Wickes PLC?
Just be yourself, answer interview questions honestly and dress smart. I had to do some pre course work so if you have to also, be sure to make your work stand out.
