Overall Rating

2.5 /5

The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!

3/5 - Overview of Role
3/5 - Skills Development
2/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Supporting the team on medium to large mixed use regeneration projects, including research, reports and project management.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The work is hard, but I am learning significantly. The coursework can be difficult to match with work in the office, especially groupwork which is weighted in terms of time towards the end of the terms and cannot be done earlier.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Work wise, not well. We have to scramble for jobs and it can be difficult to get visibility, as there are too many grads. Would prefer a more structured approach to assigning projects / tasks within the team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
We have one module that is good, and one that is terrible as the teaching is poor and clarity is low.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
I already knew most of the content as I did a previous undergraduate degree. The degree would have been more helpful if I was not simultaneously working as I gained understanding through my job already so much of the practical parts of the degree are repeats.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Some. Unfortunately, they tend to be quite geared towards a particular culture, e.g. not diverse.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Savills to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a good place to start out as you are put within a well established programme with lots of other graduates at similar stages to you. This means there is more support and networked learning which is critical at this stage.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
Show competency, be relaxed, demonstrate commitment to learn and improve.
