Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
Training at National grid training centre. Learning about High voltage asset and equipment. Learning the theory and then practical.
On site I work with my team ti Carryout maintenance on HV asset safely.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Carry out maintenance on HV asset such as transformer, Circuit breaker, air compressor, batteries system, Diesel generator and many more.
Managing training, university, exam, assignments, logbook write up and project.
Understand safety rules and regulations.
Doing mathematics calculations the is important in electrical systems.
Using varies software and testing machine.
Structure and Support

The company is very supportive in term of changing and adopting the timetable of courses.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
The industry I work is full of dangerous and hazardous environment. The training, knowledge and qualifications is the exact reason the help me to perform my job safely and efficiently.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
On site we have team meeting every month.
At Christmas we do dinner where whole team get together and spend time which paid by the company.
I have opportunity to attend networking events and share my experiences with colleagues and schools.
I have provided with IEEE promotional memberships
