Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My job involves working with electrical components that are located on multiple commercial aircraft engines. This involves removing the electrical components from the engine, repairing the components and placing them back on the engine. I have the chance to interact with people both internally and externally on a daily basis.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have found the program as to be very enjoyable as I have been able to meet many new people who have taught me lots. Furthermore, I am able to work on some of the worlds largest commercial engines which I find incredibly interesting.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been tasked with multiple projects throughout my apprenticeship as to develop my skills and increase my responsibility's with in the company. As well as this the training I receive daily have massively developed my skills and what I am able to achieve.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I have found the program as to be very well structured from being in college were I received high quality training and on the site were I have been able to experience many different sections and understand how the business operates.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employers offer me a large amount of support with this being through regular meetings and catchups were we discuss how things are going and anything else that is on our minds. As well as this we are also supported in doing extra activities such as volunteering.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have received lots of support when working towards my qualifications as when completing my BTEC college tutors offered lots of help as to ensure that I did my best. As well as this on site I have dedicated time as to carry out work towards my NVQ and work closely with assessors.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification's that I gained in college gave me the basic understanding as to carry out my job with this then being improved on when working on site. The NVQ that I am completing has helped ensure that I have experiences and knowledge of my job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is many extra-curricular activities that you can get involved in such as being involved in stem events which included visiting school or career events and promoting the apprenticeship. As well as this you are also able to get involved in charity fundraising events such as the three peak challenge and other charity events.

Why?
From what I have experienced this is a very good apprenticeship which offers a large amount of opportunities for anyone who goes through this program. I have also found this to be an enjoyable and challenging program which have allowed me to develop my skills and as a person.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GE Aerospace?
Show that you are willing to work hard and be committed to doing your best.
