Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Administration of pensions, being the first point of contact for member's and their pension schemes. Including calculating benefits, handling payrolls and corresponding with said members and also any other relevant parties (Trustees, Actuaries, etc.).
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I generally enjoy the program - but having been in the working world for a few years already, I felt the apprenticeship was a bit slow at times and covered aspects of work I was already familiar with.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Learnt about pensions in general (little to no knowledge prior). Improved in customer handling skills (dealing with members in potentially vulnerable circumstances) and further developed my interest in calculations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme felt very structured with a clear path for progression in the beginning (in my opinion a bit too much and could be more flexible). After this the programme shifted to more of a focus on work with the training provider and was much more open-ended which felt better for me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Lots of support from my immediate team, always able to ask questions and would regularly receive feedback on work (everything is peer-reviewed).
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Plenty of after-work activities to engage in. From annual events to even weekly meet-ups for football matches
