Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Day-to-day constits of a standard underwriting role. Cosnidering and evalutating risks that come across my table in commercial PPL. Investigating issues, queries and linking in with broker frequently to build a relationship.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
At times it can be tedious, lots of work along side study and day to day job that i wouldnt see as relevant to my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed;
Teamwork, Social skills, numererical and confidence

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
It has been pretty poor since the beginning. my cohort was left alone for the majority of the first year with no collaborations etc. Support for study was very individual and the communication between RSA and Davies has been quite frankly terrible.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
I have moved roles and feel a huge influx of support from colleagues to managers and beyond. Previously I was very minimal and very role based as they had no understanding and didn't try to find out about the apprenticeship. Which really hindered my apprentice progression.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Support is increasing good. They have recently began to supply tutors to apprentices which took a while to get pushed through. I now feel supported.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I believe the knowledge doesn't come through too much as I have learnt it in my role before the exams. However, I can refer back to IF3/1/4 and remember things I may of needed to ask questions about etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
No

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend RSA Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
RSA is a great environment regarding the people. Everyone is supportive, caring and there for a chat when needs be. Any job has its stress factors, however RSA seek to reduce that everyday by allocating work elsewhere when needs to be and managers link in with yourself in a more friendly and caring matter rather than a stats driven it needs done now by you attitude.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSA Group?
Focus on values written by RSA. Ensure you are the right fit for the company not just based off of knowledge and experience, attitude, goals and a eager to learn candidate can certainly have a chance.
