Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Currently on site after spending the first year at college. Day to day I work in the single aisle test bench testing fuel avionics for the XLR campaign.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The program is very full on due to the mix of work and university. However the program is very enjoyable and the work I complete on site is rewarding. There are a lot of Airbus related groups and activities to explore.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Developed technical skills such as coding on matlab and visual studio. Soft skills including leading presentations and communicating with the suppliers.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
There is sometimes confusion relating to our university courses due to having a mixture of uwe and ucw resources available. However the structure of the apprenticeship gives plenty of time to allow for studying.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Airbus offer lots of support through our early career managers and target area owners and are always available to speak to for support
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Our Level 4 qualification is managed by ucw and we regularly have meetings to check our progress on the qualification. Academic help with our degree is great and there are plenty of recorded lectures from our lecturers.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The content we learn during our university days is useful for our work based role, giving information on the fundamentals of aviation. However most of the content we learn I havent used during my time on site.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are many activities that are available through work, GenA holds regular events with a variety of different activities for people to enjoy, particularly sports
