Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I spend a lot of my day completing testing in the lab. This includes capturing the data. I also attend regular meetings, often with my team or with other apprentices as we have regular catch ups within the apprentice community.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme, I have learnt lots since starting and feel I have really developed lots of skills. The people have been so welcoming and helpful, everyone is very supportive in my development.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many new skills throughout my time on the apprenticeship scheme. These include lab skills, data skills, presentation skills and many more.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The apprenticeship is structured well. We have yearly placement rotation allowing us to build our network and understand lots of different areas of the business. The degree is structured fairly well, all the work is set in time and all lectures are in the same day allowing me to plan my study time effectively.

I receive lots of support from my employer. They are supportive of both my personal development and my studying.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive good support from the apprenticeship provider. Lecturers are usually happy to help. However, sometimes it can be a challenge to get the information you need.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I think some areas of my degree link to my role. The study skills I develop through university help me in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are plenty of extracurricular activities including sport, social activities and lots of others. We also have a good apprentice network that organises social events.
