Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I assist a director and associate director with the acquisition and disposals of hotels. My day to day work includes creating brochures, attending pitches, conducting viewings, meeting with clients and attending and hosting networking events. In addition to the agency, we do hotel valuations.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the work I do as well as the people I work with and the clients I meet.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my academic writing, ability to talk with clients, and excel/powerpoint skills. In addition, I have learned fire safety skills, and improved my sustainability and D&I awareness. I have also learned valuation methods. 20% of my week is spent at university where I am studying real estate.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well organized, with a central apprentice HR team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is access to training online. In addition, there is a company scheme allowing access to additional support including counselling, financial advice, help to buy schemes and travelling to work schemes.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The university provides an apprentice officer who deals with the day to day enquiries. We met every 6 months to do a progress review. Any issues, I go to them. The lecturers are good at providing additional support, as does the service desk.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The modules are relevant to my day to day work. In addition, I will receive 5 years additional time on the job, unlike someone who joins after university.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I am involved in the charity committee, young professional networking group, next generation hotels group, fire warden and a sustainability enabler for the office. I am also a member of the women in property networking group.

Yes
Why?
The company culture is inclusive and friendly. I enjoy the company of my colleagues, enjoy my day to day work, and meet interesting clients. The work is not repetitive and keeps me engaged.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills?
Be yourself! Also, read up on the role you are applying for - you are not expected to know everything but it's good to have solid background knowledge. Show that you are keen and able to learn new information and will go the extra mile.
