Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Varies by being in different team but includes designing energy centres and substations, developing new concepts using new inovative solutions, analyse performance data to see how well systems are running and see what can be done to increase performance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the programme thoroughly as I have a good amount of autonomy and am allowed to explore the business and the available opportunities but have all the support I need when required.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I have developed my skills in using CAD software as well as modelling software and have started my journey into software exploring several different languages. I have also had hands on experience installing heating and cooling technologies including the mechanical and electrical control elements.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The scheme lead within the company does a good job at looking for placement opportunities within the business in a wide variety of teams so that I can have as many different experiences as possible and to be able to learn as much as possible in all areas of engineering.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive all the support that I need, whether that be with personal, work or university stuff, they are helpful and accommodating if I need help or some extra time for university work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider gives a lot off support with lecturers always being available through email and teams and they have weekly sessions to join to receive help on any of the coursework, the university also supports the course well and gives all the same benefits as being a regular student.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Not everything is always applicable to the workplace but the underlying principles of what is taught is often helpful, especially the mathematics part of the course and the report writing provide valuable skills that help in the workplace
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are lots of different networks to join within the company, there us something for everyone and there are plenty of events that we get the opportunity to go to where we have the ability to network with other people in the industry and on other industries.

They provide a good, safe working atmosphere where you are able to learn and try different things/roles so that you can find the one that suits you.

Be yourself and be a friendly face and a team player and most importantly be passionate about what it is you want to do.
