Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Responsible for the firmware rollout of E.ON's Smart meter fleet. Role also involves remediating assets that are not working and liaising with meter manufacturers, the DCC and internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It has been positive in the most part. There were certain tutors that I didn't feel were as engaging and the assessments could have been more varied as it was very assignment heavy.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
On the programme I have learnt many aspects of project management which in some ways are transferable to other roles. The governance established in project planning and management is something that will help me whatever I do day to day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
I would say this has been a mixed experience due to changing of learning coach on multiple occasions throughout my apprenticeship. Each had their own expectations of me and gave a differing view of how I should be doing certain activities.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer in particular my team manager has been fantastic and very supportive. He always makes sure that I have one day committed to my studies. He had been very flexible in accommodating me whilst on programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
There are workshops to help with academic writing, and 121 reviews. There have been occasions when the support has not been great and i have been waiting a while to get a response to something if i have asked a question etc.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Within the remit of my role it has helped me to have the skills required to effectively plan work activities, better engage with stakeholders, issue and risk management and so on.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are networking events such as the one happening during apprenticeship week called bright sparks. There is also a new 'My Career Hub' where people across the business post projects that others can get involved in.
