Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Going out to customer’s homes to measure kitchens and bathrooms. Design the desired room and sell the project to the customer

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I don’t. Honestly now it has been extended to 20 months there are a lot of modules that do not apply to my job role

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I can design in any range including the intelliga ranges

How well organised/structured is your programme?

When you have completed 6 modules before your first is marked, it leaves you deflated

How much support do you receive from your employer?

With the Managers being under staffed and down to a 4 day week, the support has dwindled. I do get my full day of study, however I have outstanding work that can only be completed by a manager

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

As much as she can give. She has several programs running together with any amount of students, so understandably she is not available every time I am free and in need of assistance

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Yes but I am too exhausted to take part. My spare time is dedicated to myself

Would you recommend Wickes PLC to a friend?

Why?

For a design consultant the working week is too long. The stress is unmeasurable and being reprimanded, by loosing your commission, through HDC picking error, or an installer not checking items or completing a pre-fit survey is harsh, when we have done our job and we are penalised for them not doing there jobs
