Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Day starts by picking up my duty. I check it to make sure it is the work I am expecting to have. I then check for notices, including diversions, and then head over to my bus. I walk to my bus and follow the duty card all day.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The workshop days usually fall on opposite times to my typical shifts so I often find it quite hard to wake up and be here for that time of day. The afternoon part of the workshops I generally enjoy a lot more.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how to better my customer service, deal with a range of customers and their needs. I have previous experience with customers but this is a new type of service. Learning how to drive a bus was a big deal and I had never thought I would.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The workshops are very organised when you have a full workshop. When you have a catch up session, you just get on with the work that is set with the support of your tutor.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Stagecoach are very good at supporting the apprentices. They do allow release most of the time, too. If you need an apprenticeship day, they usually allow you to have it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A lot of support from the training provider. I very much enjoy days with my trainers as it is usually quite interesting.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel the two are a bit separate. You are either driving or you're on apprenticeship. The two link but I feel they are kept apart.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Not really
