Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role as kitchen manager is to make sure the kitchen is set up for success and making sure that my team are all fully trained and are competent for being able to do a section by them selves. My job also involves doing rotas, managing stock via counts and orders. Making sure that the kitchen is preforming to reach targets if not exceed them and know what to do if they aren't being reached.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy doing the apprenticeship with life time as I'm constantly learning something new or recapping something that I had previously learnt from my 3 years at college studying hospitality. Doing this apprenticeship has helped me develop as a manager by learning more about what I can do to help/support my team and setting goals for them.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed alot throughout my apprenticeship with lifetime. From starting off as a head chef lifetime has helped me learn new manger skills such as knowing how to do development plans for myself and someone in the team. I have also expanded my knowledge which has helped with my confidence as a manger especially when dealing with conflict.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My apprenticeship is well structured for me from the courses on aptem to scheduling calls/face to face meetings with my coach. Since being an Aprentice I have faced some challenges regrading time mangerment, my coach has helped me structure a plan for a way forward to catch back up on where I've fell slightly behind.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive alot of support from general manger and the resturant manger who have the knowledge in the areas that I'm struggling with , mostly regrading my off the job learning which again has helped me with my development and managerial promotion from head chef to kitchen manger helping me learn the stuff I have either not been shown or had briefly been shown.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My coach has helped me loads with my apprenticeship making sure that my general manger also is being told where I need to be by a certain time and how he can assist me on getting there, and how he can help with my off the job hours. They have also made sure that we are having meetings that are designated to my learning to help me catch up from where I've fell behind.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel like since doing the apprenticeship I have become a stronger manager then I was before hand, as the apprenticeship is giving me more confidence and making me feel more positive about taking the promotion. My apprenticeship has also made me perform better in my role beacuse I have been able to learn new information that I've had a module on which I can then use this to help in my job role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Within the company I work for there's not really any extra - curricular actives however recently me and soke colleagues have done a fun run to raise money for our company's chosen charity , we have also started planing what activity we should do next to raise money for Great ormand Street hospital.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Lifetime Training to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend lifetime beacuse the system they use is really helpful as it breaks stuff down into more bitesized chunks meaning you don't feel like you can't do it. But even when you fall behind the coaches at lifetime do their best to support you and bring you back on track.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lifetime Training?
Try your best to Stick with doing modules as soon as they are released/due. So you don't feel overwhelmed, but don't worry if you do , you will get there eventually and the coaches will help as best as they can. Try to take as much notes as possible and reflect on these and see what are you missing in the business.
