Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Throughout the week we attended various presentations, on the different roles and products Bloomberg has to offer as well as learning more about the company. We also took part in job simulations and games to show us what a job at Bloomberg would entail. Throughout the week we also worked on a group project, which we then presented to the team leaders at the end of the week.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was extremely inspiring to learn more about the potential roles available, and seeing how passionate all the employees at Bloomberg were about their role and their team helped a lot. Hearing first-hand from employees gave us a solid understanding of what all the jobs would entail.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
We had sessions on confidence which definitely helped build my confidence throughout the week. The job simulations and games meant that I was able to respond rapidly to customers queries and improve my ability to deliver excellent customer service under pressure. I also learnt how to use the Bloomberg terminal. The group project imprisoned my public speaking, collaborative and leadership skills.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was extremely approachable, always encouraging us to reach out and ask any questions if we had any. All the employees had a smile on their face all the time, and were there to help at all times. The sense of community, teamwork and a very supportive atmosphere came across clearly throughout the week. I could not fault the company or the people at all!

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I absolutely loved the Insight week.
They gave us such a range of presentations from improving our public speaking skills, to dealing with a client on the terminal. Everyone was supportive and encouraging and the group presentations we had to work on we’re extremely fun and engaging

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg
Really research the roles at Bloomberg and understand what skills make you suited to the different roles they have to offer. Take time learning about their products and their company culture, as these are key to how Bloomberg works as a company.
