Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The overall program was well designed and structured and very engaging! Each day consisted of various activities such as presentations, panels, interactive sessions, Bloomberg terminal demos, Q&A sessions, and project time for the group activity included in the program. The day started at 9 and ended at 5, with plentiful time to take breaks throughout. The Bloomberg team were very supportive and excitedly answered any questions from interns.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Reading it online is one thing, but hearing it from real-life employees is a whole other level! It was interesting to hear about their opinions and lives at Bloomberg. The program introduced many staff members from all ends of Bloomberg to allow us to grasp the vast array of roles across the departments. It was motivating to hear such positive things, and inspirational to see how many career paths and training programs are available.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Many of the sessions included Terminal demos as well as explanations of fundamental financial concepts. The program has certainly helped solidify my understandings of financial markets, how they work, and many of the important factors that affect them. I was also given the opportunity to familiarise myself with the Terminal and learned how to utilise some of its basic functions. Sessions were also held to help improve presentation skills and overall confidence–really inspiring!

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Bloomberg shows a true commitment to their values and organisational culture. Everyone was super friendly and it showed how collaborative, diverse, and inclusive the atmosphere is. They have a really impressive mission within Philanthropy and many sustainability goals which all staff seemed to be proud and proactive about.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
A great experience overall. Provided insight into the most essential parts of Bloomberg and also taught a lot about the industry it operates in. The program answered all my questions about the company and really sold its culture. I now know what a role in Global Data entails and requires of me. More interactive activities with fellow interns would have been my only suggestion to increase engagement and networking!

They truly value people for who they are! I think a great key to success would be to be yourself and allow your personality to shine through. A general note would be to have passion for finance and tech.
