Overview of the Experience

Please give an overview of what your virtual experience involved:
5/5
I have looked at the roles of engineering and IT in the Siemens work and to build knowledge of the industry. I have watched webinars with qualified workers and their journey into finding a place at Siemens. I have completed activities throughout the weeks such as creating my own designs.
To what extent did you enjoy your virtual experience?
5/5
I greatly enjoyed it because not only it was made for a suitable age such as me. But there was loads of support along the way and the videos uploaded seemed very optimistic and made me want to learn more about the jobs in the industry such as industry security engineer who enjoyed her job
How well organised was your virtual experience?
4/5
It was quite well organised as there was a good structure to learn the concepts and then watch the webinars and do an activity, also the way Technology and engineering and other services were separated made it more easy to learn. However the only thing that I struggled with was the timing as I did feel like I had to rush through my last activities.
How much did your virtual experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
4/5
I think this virtual work experience helped me choose a specific degree, and I am more like to get into an internship that would allow me to work at Siemens, however I do want to first have the right qualifications to get into industry like Siemens
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
1/5
No I was not paid but the virtual work experience was free, online and easy to find. Also it allows young people that don’t know what career path to do, to give a chance to do the virtual experience to get an important insight of what Siemens is about

Skills Development

What training and skills development did you learn from your virtual experience?
4/5
Firstly, I learned about my own CV skills that I need to have to be employed such as how to write a good CV and what skills I need to have to make a good impression. Also, I learned about how even technology can be used in medicine like medical therapy

Company Culture

How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
5/5
I did get a very good insight of what it is like to work there for example industry security engineering doesn’t only sit at a desk but also on-site work and engineering so installing solutions and setting things up. I also learned how there are many internships which allow people to get an idea of how it is to work there
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
1/5
I believe that the industry showed me how there is a lot of networking inside Siemens however I did not meet anyone personally but I was told that I can email some to get more information into the specific roles. But The experience did not allow me to directly speak to employers

Recommendations and Advice

Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I believe Siemens encourages diversity and bringing people from different backgrounds, and I think that is very important for me especially in this career path where it harder for some people to even find the chance to do some networking. Also I like how there is diversity in the roles that people do like on-site working or desk job
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
I believe that you need strong passion to talk about what you want to do but also have good skills and a wanting to apply. You need to have an open mind and give things a try and learn from mistakes that you may encounter also ask for advice from anyone.
