Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working on decarbonisation projects which includes extracting data, research, analysis and report writing. Along with university assignments and projects with deadlines. Learning new skills such as presentation skills and coding.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy it a lot because of the flexibility I have to work on projects and complete the university course. I also enjoy having a small community at my local office and going to the main office in Manchester once a month to see everyone.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes, I've learnt presentation skills, currently learning Python and also learning new software to develop projects (PSSDE).

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

University wise, the programme is very detailed and well structured. They have organised meetings with various mentors and managers within the course and on-site teaching days. Work-wise, projects are delivered and I get to work closely with someone on each project.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I've received good support from my employer as the team I am in all actively help me grow in the career and I have a mentor who helps me with my university work which is helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There is a lot of support and structure with in the training provider to help achieve the qualifications. Communication is very good, monthly check ins and on-site teaching all help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Starting a new role and a new course can be challenging but they have complimented each other by practising my skills in report writing, exploring the company more for my projects and being able to reach out to people that are experts or have experience in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, coding is an extra-curricular activity at work, social activities such as dinners are also what I get involved in.

The environment is welcoming, the team I am in is very supportive and there is a wide variety of things to help you grow as an individual and as a professional in the working world. It gives you the opportunity to carve out the professional path and set the tone.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
Be relatable with in your work, social activities or studies. Transferrable skills are very welcomed and there is always room to learn more, be open-minded about the role however focused on the specifics of the role, weather that is news bout the role, relatable stories etc.
