Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Networking with other insights students, graduates, associates and directors to learn more about how the business works in Q&A sessions and networking events. Each department did a presentation about there specialism so we could broaden our understanding of the overall business. When we weren't in organized meetings or event, I shadowed a graduate which allowed me to understand the day to day life of working in savills.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
Yes, Savills made an effort to make sure we understood all the opportunities available to us both within the main London offices but also on a regional and international scale. Having presentations and networking events it allowed me to understand each business sectors and all future paths which I might want to go down.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I was able to learn how to communicate in a corporate office environment. Learning how to ask the right questions in order to gain the most from an experience. I learnt that for me I work best in a practical environment away from the desk.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Savills made me feel very welcome and you could tell people of all levels wanted to help to enhance others learning. Everyone was very friendly and I felt as if I was part of a community despite only being here for a week. I think it was a relaxed but professional atmosphere, and I felt supported throughout my whole week.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight program, I feel I have learnt a lot about the property industry. I enjoyed how much of a range of opportunities was on offer within the business and can now look to what I want to do in the future. I felt welcomed and supported throughout my week and gain important knowledge.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Savills
Be yourself, I think everyone here is so different but being self motivated and hard working is what everyone has in common. You don't have to have any experience in property to work here, so don't worry about that. Just show your willing to work hard and make the most of the experience.
