Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Management of staff and customers within the domiciliary home care sector . Working closely in partnership with the local authorities, hospitals, cqc, doctors, friends, families and customers. Ensuring a high level standard of quality care is achieved with the customer at the forefront of what we do. While adhering to policies and procedures set by our company, government and CQC.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I have enjoyed every project so far. I have enjoyed it so much that I find it hard to stop writing. Once I get going I get really stuck into it. I have enjoyed looking at case studies and comparing them. I have looked in depth at policies and procedures within our organisation, the local authorities,
Government and CQC. This has been really interesting as to how it all toes together to keep us all safe and protected.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have definitely learnt new skills but I have also found that I have adapted more and enhanced the skills I already had. When you stop and think about what you’re actually doing, you realise that you do things on a day-to-day basis, without even knowing you’re doing them, it comes naturally. But doing the apprenticeship has given me a chance to reflect on the good that I do every day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
So far I have experienced no issues with the structure or program. My tutor is very organised and helpful. I always understand what has been set and asked of me. I also find the learning portal very useful and easy to use. It is so much better than using pen to paper. I much prefer typing and uploading it.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer has been very supportive and helpful. They allow us a day each week to do our QCF. They also allow us time to attend the meetings uninterrupted. If I need to ask where anything is within the company to help
Me do my QCF they have always are this available
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They have been very supportive and understanding. Especially when setting work. Everything is explained well. When I needed to take a break due to maternity this was done and then I was able to continue on my return. It was all done smoothly with the same tutor I had before. They have been excellent.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It has definitely allowed me the opportunity to look at things differently. To take time out of our busy day to reflect on things from a different perspective. Looking at what we do and why we do things the way we do. I have spent a lot of time looking at policies and procedures and understanding why they are in place.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes. We do have a lot of networking events we can attend. There is a lot of opportunities for us to learn new skills and knowledge. We are able to network with other professionals and people within our organisation and within other organisations. We also do a lot of charity events and attend events within the local communities.
