Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Day to day we spend most the time at our desks however I have been on 2 site visits since Monday and I attend 2-3 meetings a day.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
This aspect was one of my favourite things about the insight week because I'm still unsure what I want to do in my career, so learning about different jobs and aspects about the business has been brilliant. It has also given me much more to think about in terms of career paths because some of the things I thought I wouldn't be interested in like Property Management for example I found very interesting.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Yes, I have learnt a great deal about planning. For example the different local polices and lots of new terminology. The skills that I have learnt from university have been expanded upon and I can now understand better why I have studied the topics I have been. I believe that when I go back to university I will have a much greater level of understanding because of this placement week.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture of Savills is great. On my first day everyone made me feel welcome and was very friendly towards me which was great. I felt included with tasks that my mentor/teammates were doing (joining in on meetings, site visits, etc). Members of my team and others teams were happy to answer questions on the jobs and also gave me a few tasks to complete for them.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I have really enjoyed the insight week it has been a massive eye-opener and I have learnt so many new things about Savills as a whole. I have also enjoyed networking and meeting different teams during my time here at Savills. I can't wait to go back to university and take all my new knowledge and apply it to my assignments.

My Advice would be to have a good cover letter and CV so that Savills can see you past experiences and include how you could help Savills and tailor it to the role you are applying for.
