Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

On a day to day basis, we generally arrive at college around half past eight then begin to learn a wide variety of different information on the module that is at hand and we will be given a lot of incredibly helpful handouts as well as the books to reinforce the knowledge.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

this program is amazing and i enjoy it all and the content that is provided throughout the course. it has helped me understand the aviation industry as well as further develop the passion that i have for it. not only being able to learn the ins and outs but perform it during practical.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since joining Boeing in November twenty twenty two i have learnt a lot of brand new skills involving the aviation industry however i have not only learned new skills i have been able to develop my pre existing skill set with the practical tasks improving my knowledge and skill for placement.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

the organization and structure in my program is phenomenal. i can not fault it in the slightest as everything that i may need through out is provided for me as well as explained thoroughly by the lecturers that we have and the college it self. the program it self is very enjoyable.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

the support that i receive from my employer is great. i can not fault it in the slightest. the tutors we have at college are amazing and are willing to help in anyway they can as well as my managers who have more than compensated for any questions or queries that may have risen

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

the support that i receive from my training provider (ICAT - Cardiff and vale college) is phenomenal and they cant do enough. we are supplied with books for each module as well as extra course ware to reinforce the topic we are learning. some of the course ware may be handouts or powerpoints for us to use or follow

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

i very much believe that the qualification that i am receiving though my training provider will allow me to kick start my career in the aero space industry as it will allow me to gather an understanding on what is to come and the route to follow through out my career

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

there have and will be many social net working events with my company that will greatly benefit me as a person and my career development. we attended the apprentice awards earlier this year where we got to meet other apprentices and managers from with in the company this allowed for some great networking

i would more than happily recommend boeing to friend as they are a very supportive company that will help you to develop your career in the best way possible as well as help you with gaining confidence in your self and work. i would also love to know that my friends have gained a positive influence from myself and boeing

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Boeing UK?

the tips and/ or advice that i would give is be confident in your self and prepare your self for what is to come. not only this but be prepared to give it your all and persevere throughout as the perseverance will keep you going and help you to thrive and overcome any hurdles.
