I feel the program is a bit clustered and not well structured which can effect the enjoyment however when everything is going well I feel the programme is fun. Also BAEs ability to do outreach and extra activities adds to the enjoyment of the programme

4/5
I feel this scheme has hugely increased my competency as a software engineer and helped build general work skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme could be structured better but overall for the amount of work load you get it is manageable. In this programme we sit a degree, a level 4 diploma and undertake project work. Sometimes there is a disconnect between the three however it is improving constantly

4/5
You are normally left to work on your own with diploma and degree however project work you gain great support for your team and other co workers. There is also support out there if needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The training provider can lack with help especially in the diploma side of stuff. I found its hard to get use the learning alot by yourself however once the ball is rolling I haven't needed support
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The qualification helps with the theory side of my job however applying it to my role has to be learnt yourself
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
BAE provide some extra-curricular stuff such as outward bound and outreach but I have not seen anything to do with social actives beyond this

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
BAE isn't about your technical skills as the whole point of the scheme is to learn this on the job - however more about your drive, personality and what you would bring to BAE as an employee. As long as they see you got the passion for it BAE will be the one for you
