Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My daily tasks would mainly consist of handling the distribution of the DSR email which is sent out to all teams sat within CD, Marketing and Finance. I have overtook responsibility to ensure that it is sent out on time and that communication is sent out on delays and issues being experienced.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme a lot as i have never really been introduced to this industry before i had joined Unilever. Along with the training from the training provider, being able to apply this in the job has been key to cementing this knowledge into me and my understanding rather than just learning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
The main skill i have found most important in my role is working on deadlines and ensuring that communication is clear and concise while dealing with stakeholders. A sign of good communication is not having to go backwards and forwards with them. My excel skills have also improved significantly working in my role.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is clear and well structured as it has been developed into months. To summarise the first year of the programme was mainly boot camps and calls to provide basic understanding of the content I would be learning. The final few months of my programme was preparation for my exam interview.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a grave deal of support from Unilever for my apprentice programme. Along with my learning in general i have a study day dedicated to ensure i am on track for my learning (20%). My line managers along the duration of the programme have made sure that i take this time.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Multiverse the training provider have gave as much support as I needed towards my qualifications. My multiverse coach always booked in one to one time with me to give me tasks and ensure that i was not falling behind on the works and would push me in the right direction if needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification from my training provider evidences that i am compatible in a role in the data and analytics industry. My work on the portfolio and the work based projects were assessed by the examiners to show that i had been able to apply my learnings to real work tasks and situations.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
When i was in finance team there was a few events through out the year to get involved and unwind from work. The first finance social event was a afternoon out at Tulleys farm in Crawley which provided as a good time to get to know members of finance i had not met before.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend Unilever to a friend because from my experience they do not treat you like a teacher treats a student they both trust and give you a lot of responsibility in being able to carry out tasks and work independalty. i think this is essential as allows to grow and shows skills.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Before applying to Unilever research both the company and programme you are applying before your interview. I had done this and in my interview was able to evidence my knowledge and apply it to my interview answers showing my interest and my eagerness to be able to land the job standing out from others.
