Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Data Analytics: Communicate problems and solutions with customers, solving them in an analytical way and feeding back in an a concise and easily understood way.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
A lot! I love the work aspect of the apprenticeship, there's hardly anything I'd change.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've developed my communication and analytical thinking skills during my time within BAE.
I've had the opportunity to learn and develop teamworking skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
From BAE's side, there isn't much that could be changed, other than perhaps a more streamlined system for acquiring placements where necessary.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As much as I ask for.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Not much, they openly admit to not taking any of our feedback onboard. Which is concerning considering we're the first cohort they've had. However there are still catch-ups in place to help us if needed.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Currently, not in the slightest. There's not been anything from university I've taken to my day job. This may change in the final year when I start my specialist subject.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
The team has regular meet ups and nights out along with other social events (such as go-karting), so I'm happy with the frequency and quality of the activities. All I'd say is there could be more spontaneous pub-after-work type trips, rather than always being planned.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Good salary and opportunities, friendly bunch, great connections and generally prepares you well for a prosperous career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Passing an interview is much more about how the employer thinks you'd fit in and work with the team than how much you currently know, so just try and be as pleasant as possible and you stand a good chance.
