Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role in the BAE organisation involves a range of things that go on day to day, in and out of the office. I usually begin with trying to look over the new refreshed order book pull. I then need to check notes and contact relevent buyers to access information.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme. BAE always help me understand any work that I need to get on with. The managers involved with my apprenticeship and work placements always work hard to ensure that we can get on with the work, therefore I find it enjoyable and useful to work.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The main skill that I have learnt and developed through my apprenticeship at BAE. Mainly using the skills such as; communication via email and through the use of calls and instant messages. It has also improved my confidence on the job and general use of supply chain in the workplace.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well. My work placements definitely run smoothy and the managers always aim for us to get the most out of the different placements. I have a great skills coach and skills manager who I always work with in the supply chain academy and my work placements to communicate effectively. This helps.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer helps a lot with working towards my end role in the apprenticeship. They always want the best for me and ensure there are many different levels of support in play to help our work. Whenever there is any issue, the relevant members of staff are there to support us in placements.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

In terms of the support given from the training suppliers in my work, throughout the apprenticeship there have been many challenges throughout in which we have all been given the correct level of support to help me work through it and not hold me back when aiming to complete the apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As I have moved on from placement to placement throughout the workplace, the supply chain apprenticeship has provided me with a range of knowledge skills and resources that I can use to help me perform better in my role when in the supply chain placement. Overall very well.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

In work there are a few activities I get up to such as any extra tours or site visits I will get involved with.

Why?
The employer always helps to gather information to help me get the most out of the work I am doing. As well as this, I am always looked after in the company with many extra benefits in the workplace such as the share scheme and the ability to work from home and the office.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Always answer the interview questions with detail and get as many extra curricular activities in as possible.
