Quite a lot. If there is not a lot going on with regard to work, they are more than happy to let me get on with any work that will be required for obtaining my qualification.

My degree as a nuclear engineer will help a lot with reactor testing on the submarines, and also teaches the basics of engineering which can be applied on the whole to my job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of events set up by early careers and the local higher apprentice council with regard to social time such as nights out and forums.
