Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
my role focuses on protecting and maintaining IT/OT/ICS infrastructure
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Very much so, my first role has had a wide variety of work that i find interesting and relevant to my aspirations

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
lots of technical skills related to Cyber Security and IT management. the support from co-workers and Mentors

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
there are problems with understaffing, communicating with the apprentice coach can be challenging and most of the organised meetings are run by other apprentices. however this is hard to blame on the company because the person that they hide to be the new apprentice coach quit after 2 days.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
lots. they are more than happy to provide help or time off when the Uni work load is high. the support in my job role is also great as i feel that i have plenty of people to ask for support with work.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
they have been good at keeping connected with bi-monthly meetings. the planning of the Uni sessions could be better but as the course is relatively new they are still working out the kinks.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
mainly through business skills like how to communicate in a business as well as presenting skills. the technical skills aren't as useful i have found however it is hard to assume that this will persist as i am not even a quarter of the way through the content.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
there are social events every month or so as well as a week where our years cohort travels to The Uni site and spend a week together. it provides a good time to socialise with people from other parts of the business units.
