Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I'm in a global team and do lots with promotions and analysing those promotions, I often build dashboards with power bi and work with a lot of data. I speak and work with a lot of different teams and also lots of different countries as it is a global role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
At the beginning of my programme it was very confusing and a bit overwhelming but as I've been with my role for many months now I definitely do enjoy the programme with some of it being the people I've met which are a lot of other apprentices who are all in a similar position to you so they all relate to different issues and we help each other out with figuring things out.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
During my apprenticeship I have pick up a lot of new skills and developed others both from my day to day role and the learning part of my apprenticeship this includes developing my excel skills heavily, I have learnt power bi heavily which has become a main part of my role and also started to learn python.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Its quite well organised but there is some issues here and there, the programme is very well set up with the learning provider and most managers and teams are very accommodating and give you a whole day for your learning which is very helpful
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I'm technically employed by Manpower but work for Unilever, this has lead to some annoying issues such as I miss out on quite a few benefits that Unilever would normally give and makes doing some things a nightmare, and Manpower there's decent support but nothing incredible, if I was just employed directly by Unilever though, the support would be amazing
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
It very much depends on who you have as your coach and who is delivering sessions but in my experience i receive lots of support and my coach is incredibly helpful, always setting targets for me and not just about my qualification they help me develop personal skills also.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My qualification starts of with the rough basics and builds up to much more advanced things and i happened to use excel and power bi in my role a lot and we did some modules on both of those and being brand new to power bi it was incredibly useful
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
At the beginning of my apprenticeship we did a big event with all of the apprentices that were starting that year which was very fun, I've also done away days to London with my team doing different activities and soon I will be going to Barcelona for a team event so lots of different events as well as an amazing Christmas party

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It has been an amazing experience for my first time in a proper workplace, I've learnt so many new skills and learnt about the working world and they have been very good and I have already recommended it to friends and some have already applied and my friends are always so jealous about some of the perks
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
Express your interest to the role and business and show that you are willing to try and put effort in, I was very nervous during the process to get in but as long as you present yourself well you should be fine and the interview process is so relaxed compared to other companies it's very nice
