Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Planning and executing marketing activity for customers within specific operator groups. I produce artworks across Unilever's food and Ice cream portfolio for wholesalers. I contact and manage different small bespoke projects such as competitions that run within specific customers. I am in contact with different agencies and stakeholders both internally and externally.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I have enjoyed the course itself it has taught me skills that are relevant and that can be transferred across any business type. It is difficult learning and managing a new job role as well as studying alongside however it is defiantly worth it for the skills I have developed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have become more confident in my skills and ability. My marketing skills have increased greatly about how to increase customer attention and click thoughts. As well as running my own competition. I have leant about writing terms and conditions, making a webpage and developed these skills. I become strong at managing projects and numerous assets being created to different timelines.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programme is structed well from the course providers point of view, however more coaching lessons would be beneficial as you only get 1, 3 hour lesson each module (which is around a 4-6 week period). Having an additional one would be beneficial. It is all virtual which is ok, however I would get more out of the programme if lessons were in person.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Doing any apprenticeship within Unilever that is not level 6 (could be 3 or 4) means you are not directly employed with them. This can be challenging as Unilever do not actually have a say in some decisions as you are employed by a 3rd party and also do not receive the same benefits that the level 6 employees receive. However, the support from my team within Unilever itself is excellent but not the 3rd party employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider is excellent. You are provided a 'coach', mine is quick with answering any questions that I have and providing any feedback I ask for. There are recap videos and content videos that you can look over your too, these are on the learning providers platform that are beneficial.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
What I have learnt have defiantly helped me within my role, however I would not say they are crucial in me being able to complete my role. It has allowed me to add skills into my role that I didn't have before and have future opportunies in that specific field.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are social activities on the occasion. Unilever run a great walk where you raise money for charity and walk around London once a year. Our team also host netball sessions on a Wednesday and have a gym which can be social. There are apprenticeship specific events you can attend such as lunch's.

Yes

The team is really invested in your development and ensuring your work life balance is maintained. I have developed many of skills and gained invaluable experience in my time being here.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
