Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role consists of many digital tasks including managing different stakeholders, digital asset briefing, then reviewing and approving, leading the brand CRM programme, and managing the digital budgets. My day-to-day job consists of attending meetings relevant to my workstreams, then completing tasks that need actioning in relation to my workstreams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my digital marketing apprenticeship program and all of the different aspects included within the course. There have been some situations in which I have had to work with my line managers which have been more difficult, however this all contributes to my development and understanding of how to deal with scenarios.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed and learned a wide range of skills throughout my apprenticeship and broadened my skill set in terms of both digital and commercial skills. Some skills developed include organisation and time management of workstreams and tasks, confidence in presenting and leading, plus analysing data and making business reccomendations.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My workplace is very organised with my apprenticeship and allows me to prioritise university work that needs to be completed as long as I manage my workstreams effectively. The university is organised with a timetable and manages which lectures and lecturers are taking the course, as well as assignment deadlines.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I received a lot of support through my employer within my apprenticeship program, including support from my line manager and direct team, plus help from the careers and HR team. I believe that it is essential for univeristy to communicate with the employer on a regular basis to keep everyone up to date.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive a good amount of support from my training provider London South Bank University when working towards my qualifications which includes a review each semester with my line manager from Unilever. I am also able to reach out to lectures and module leaders whenever I have questions on assignments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I believe that my qualifications through London South Bank University have supported my development and allowed me to perform successfully within my job role due to the knowledge and skills obtained. The modules I have studied have been relevant to the workstreams set for me to manage within the workplace.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are a number of extra-curricular activities to get involved in including sports teams and social events which are good to network and meet new people in Unilever. Unilever run quote a few social events with direct teams as well as whole company events which are great to get involved in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend working for Unilever to a friend as its a great company with a good culture for apprentices and young people in the organisation. There is also the opportunity to move around and gain experience in many areas which are not directly involved in your main job to gain extra skills.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
I would give advise someone applying to Unilever to gain an understanding of the different brands that Unilever owns and the competitor brands within the market. I would also advise someone applying to research into the different categories across the business and what they focus on and what each of them focus on.
