Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As an Network engineer we develop and maintain Virgin Media's network. We offer support to residential and business customers and troubleshoot any problems that occur on the network. We mainly deal with faults on the network but are constantly optimising the network to get the best results.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Really enjoy the programme on the whole and really enjoy working for Virgin Media as a business.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned a whole new set of skills since starting the apprenticeship. I've learnt a lot about networking and IT through out the apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Virgin Media have been very organised with there side of the apprenticeship however Estio don't seem to be as organised and don't really understand what we do for our day to day job.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Virgin Media have been amazing at supporting us and have put on extra training sessions for us to improve our skills and knowledge.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
They have been supporting us but they don't seem to understand that we need to get a grip of the day to day job before we can write a portfolio piece about it.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
The CCNA is a great qualification but isn't very relevant within our day to day job role as the virgin media network isn't the same as a SOHO network.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have occasional football matches against other teams in the region after work to help improve team moral.
