Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Leading the Operations Support Team in supporting the Operational Directors with their administrative tasks, issuing reports and chasing actions to completion. Responsible for the efficient running of the office, including line management of reception, ensuring all essential stock is maintained, business mail processed and managing team budget.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I had a rocky start with a family bereavement early into my qualification, but despite this, my tutor was incredibly understanding, supportive and motivating. She helped me to learn in a way that worked best for me, especially during a difficult time - always relating learning to real life situations.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

The Team Leader Supervisor level 3 apprenticeship supporting me to develop a wealth of knowledge and skills I didn't know I needed to effectively manage my team, both for the benefit of the business, myself and my team members.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The modules were laid out intuitively - easy to follow. Each linked back to previous learning to build on skills and knowledge and how to apply new learning to previous modules, combining skills and giving examples of how to put them into practise in my role.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My manager was incredibly supportive throughout my apprenticeship, giving me the time I needed to complete online learning and assessments. She also helped me to practise the skills I learned through giving me new tasks - shadowing meetings, etc and providing coaching.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My coach was incredible, offering support by email or phone whenever I needed. We had calls at least once a month to make sure I was on target with my work, guiding me to who I could turn to for more help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My apprenticeship helped me to develop new skills and knowledge to better support my team both professionally and personally. In turn my confidence in my role has increased - I feel so much more capable and confident in my abilities!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We have regular team events like quizzes and nights-out but Lifetime also offer charity experiences (bake sales/volunteer work)), sports days (rounders is a fave!) and frequently offer options to meet other teams outside of the office to build network.

Would you recommend Lifetime Training to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The confidence I have built has been down in no small part to my tutor and manager - I have not felt as supported in any previous role or education provider (having been through GCSEs, A levels and university degree). Support was personal - I would highly recommend!
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lifetime Training?
Don't expect an easy ride - achieving an apprenticeship is hard work and requires commitment, but is so worth it. Know that through that hard work, you will be supported and will get out of it far more than you put in!
