Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

we change placements every 4-6 months to get an insight of different areas of the business and the job is specific to different roles. My first placement was a planning role and i spent my time assisting the operation through ensuring the tasks are ready to start.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme a lot. I have a nice team and my placements I have enjoyed as I've got to know the team on a friendship level as well as professional.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt various IT skills. Communication skills and personal skills. I have learnt how to adapt to change and evaluate problems with different outcomes.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is sometimes a lack of communication throughout our learning days however other then that the structure of the programme is well organised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My placement manager provides much support if required and my line manager and apprenticeship manager provides support when any problem is faced.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I am currently not far in through my learning however my training provider supports any help needed when asked and is happy to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Personally, I do no think that my training and learning through my qualifications helps me perform better in my role as i believe i already possess those skills that i have learnt.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are always opportunities to network and do projects such as STEM as you go through your work. This consists of going to schools to answer questions and expand the knowledge of the company to younger people in hopes they join BAE.

I think that BAE is a good company to work for with many different career opportunities and provides a good knowledge base around business and how operations are run within a business.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Make sure that you know what you would like to do however if you do not, any apprenticeship will allow you to go into another one after you finish or explore your career options.
