Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Engineering role looking into software/hardware solutions for existing and new rolling stock.
Developing solutions for various projects from technical to non technical. In addition, providing support to the internal team involved into the innovation of processes and tools within the business.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, I was involved in quite a few projects where I was given the opportunity to be responsible for certain tasks within a massive project. In addition, Siemens has given me the opportunity to develop an idea and potentially get to develop it with existing resources. E.g innovative ideas can get funding to be developed and you can get the full responsibility for the development.

Would you recommend Siemens to a friend?
Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to Siemens
It's a nice place for people who want a career in the rail industry. There are unlimited numbers of resources which you can use to learn and a lot of experienced people to speak to. The mobility sector is relatively new to the digital technologies but there is a lot of work into this, if you're willing to join Siemens on this journey and be the change, this is the place for you.
