Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working on a chemical plant controlling the process. Following process instructions, collecting samples, problem solving, manual operating valves.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Great apprenticeship that provides excellent training from operators that have been on site for a long time. Support provided from my apprenticeship manager was needed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. Over the past few years I gained technical knowledge of plant equipment, the chemistry involved in the processing and running operations via a PCS.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very organised. Balance between plant training, college work and NVQ is executed greatly.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Support provided wherever needed. There are multiple people on site that you feel comfortable to talk to if you need some help or guidance.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Able to manage work load on your own, but if you need support you can raise a concern to your training provider and they will help to guide you in the correct direction.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes. We have apprenticeship activities such as going to CATCH for the induction. Outwood bounds for team building and also a trip to another Syngenta site in London.

Why?

Excellent company to work for that provides many benefits. Apprenticeship programme is well structured and supported throughout. Once your apprenticeship is finished you re guaranteed a job if passed all qualifications.
