Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Job involves integrating complex systems to ensure various contractual requirements and internal design aims are met.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
I enjoy my programme generally, but the time demands of university outside of working hours are challenging.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
A number of new skills had to be cultivated to be a successful combat systems engineer. The key skill acquired needed is the ability to communicate clearly and ensure understanding across discipline.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The programmes university and college structure is clearly defined, the placement system during apprenticeship is not clearly defined and could be improved.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
My employer gives 5 hours of protected study time per week. This is often not enough to complete the university workload, and additional hours would be appreciated.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
As graduate apprentices, we have access to all the services the university provides to standard students.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
As combat systems, engineering is very varied across sub groups, it is not clear how much benefit will be gained from the course as final roles are not decided in advance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are some fliers posted around the office with information around activities.
