Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am currently 6 months into a 12 month placement. From day to day, I carry out tasks - these can be things my placement manager has set out or day to day tasks I deal with.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my placement and the balance between uni and placement is good. Sometimes I feel like I do not have enough work-life balance due to working a full week and having one day for uni studies.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Leadership, developing people, communication.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I would say the BAE side of the apprenticeship is structured and planned, university side - the teachers are saying they are learning alongside us.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
There is constant support from my employer.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We are often told to go off and learn for ourselves - which I understand from a university perspective is normal as this is what university is, but a little bit of guidance would help. Lecturers tell you one thing and then you get marked differently.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I have definitely started noticing my placement information becomes apparent in university. I would say the things I learn in placement help more with university as I am actually doing the job, but I have not learnt things in university yet which have helped with my placement.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
STEM, Stretch Assignments really help with development and networking. Functional lead meetings help with staying in contact with my cohort.
