Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work within the rural professional team where I assist in rural valuations. This includes accompanying the team on property inspections and assisting with reports. During my degree I received one day a week of study time.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my work and role in the team. I have gained experience throughout the rural team, from estate management to valuations. The role also provides the opportunity to go out on-site and see projects first-hand.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My role has built on the skills I learnt as part of the Masters degree, improving my skills in valuation, property management and landlord and tenant. Data analysis and research have also been key skills when looking for property information.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My course was well structured, with one day a week for studying. The Savills team in my office have provided a lot of support throughout the degree terms.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer, especially the team I work with, has provided a great amount of support when studying. Savills also have a dedicated apprenticeship team who can answer any study related queries.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The degree is provided by an online university. As such, there is limited support with a large amount of independent work and study. There are regular meetings with the training provider to track progress.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My degree course has allowed me to develop the theory that benefits my role, including valuation methodology and legislation for property management.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

The rural team host networking and young professional events alongside national events with the opportunity to meet other graduates / apprentices from across the UK.
