Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a Data Analyst apprentice, day-to-day jobs include organising, cleaning and analysing data in the form of creating visual reports. Data architecture is widely considered within the role.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very enjoyable first placement and lots of exciting opportunities to come. Colleagues are very welcoming and apprentices are treated equally.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learnt an enormous amount of knowledge, skill and behaviours in the first 6 months. The university course relates to skills learnt at work and is a great way to improve confidence and networking.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Very well structured. Work placements and lots of support given with mentors, well-being sessions and regular forums with fellow apprentices. The university is also very supportive, however teaching methods are not inclusive for all and improvements needs to be made.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Very good support is given. Regular check-in calls, meetings and sessions with other apprentices and early careers are given. There is always someone to give advice, ask questions and help in any way.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Support is given with monthly one to one’s with apprenticeship coach. However questions have been raised on the delivery of the course by many students and no improvements as of yet have been made.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
There’s some really interesting topics covered, with some knowledge learnt that can be applied to the job role. Other topics are covered that are not relevant to the role specifically.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Depending on the placement. Some teams have regular away days which gives opportunity for networking and socialising. Apprentice council have three or four groups you can join, however they are all outdoor pursuits.
