Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The first two weeks consisted of several training sessions, including financial modeling, accounting, Bloomberg, CapIQ, PowerPoint, and Excel. This was followed by a 3-day job simulation before we joined our respective teams. Once we were allocated to a team, we were staffed on at least 1 deal/ company pitch. The team gave us a lot of exposure and responsibility and was always there to lend a helping hand if need be.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
The moment I joined the team, everyone welcomed me and encouraged me to ask for help if need be. Within a week of joining the team, I saw some financial analysis that I conducted presented to the wider team. Furthermore, I was staffed on three different transactions and one company pitch during my summer internship. The level of exposure along with great mentorship was extremely valuable as I got a proper insight into the industry.

The level of support and guidance received during the internship exceeded my expectations. Employees are always willing to help and show us the most efficient ways to get work done. All of the people in my team, as well as bankers near me, were happy to help and enjoyed sharing their knowledge of the industry/sector.
