Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

Involved hearing about the firms practice areas and going through case studies of some of their exemplary achievements. Also involved a negotiations workshop where we could put the knowledge we learnt during the day into practice.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

It made me confident that I could thrive in the legal field and reach my career goals.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Developed more confidence and interpersonal skills as I often had to interact with senior partners, trainees and other students. Improved my oratorical skills during the negotiation task and learnt how to best answer application questions.

Incredibly friendly whilst simultaneously maintaining the professionalism necessary. They are supportive but allowed independent thinking with honest feedback and advice given every step of the way.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

To a large extent I really enjoyed the insight, it made me confident in entering the legal profession while giving me the knowledge and skills that I need to successfully achieve that. Despite it being virtual, I felt as if I was being spoken to rather than spoken at.

Be yourself and don't be afraid to ask question. The firm genuinely seems invested in diversity and inclusion which is what drew me to them in the first place, but they have amazing achievements in a large range of sectors so make sure you research those areas so that you can have questions prepared for those who have experience in those sectors.
