Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a graduate at WTW, I sit in the International Casualty team where I am training as a broker. I engage with the London Markets to get the best terms and conditions for our clients insurance coverage. I also am on the GDP where I have to take the ACII.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am really enjoying my experience at WTW. I feel as though I am learning a lot about the business as I have sat in two different seats due to the rotational nature of the graduate scheme. I am also learning a lot about the insurance placing process.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I would say I have developed communication skills as I have to speak and email people everyday. I have also developed my attention to detail from reading high-level policies. I would say my excel skills have also had to adapt as this is something I use on a day-to-day basis.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is structured very well as I get to sit in two different teams as this is a rotational programme. I also have to do the ACII qualification which has helped me to develop my knowledge about the insurance sector.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
If I ever have a queries about the GDP, I will contact the HR representatives who run our graduate scheme and they always make a big effort to help solve these problems for me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We do get support from our training provider. BPP provide lectures for us on the topics. We all have a skills coach who I speak to regularly and can ask if I have any issues.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Since I have started studying for the ACII, I feel as though I have learnt a lot about the insurance industry and it has provided a great base of knowledge.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At WTW, I am involved in the I&D network. I am also involved in the CSR Network and help set up regular events with them. I also play netball for WTW where I have been able to meet other London insurers as well as WTW colleagues.
